KYPR ("KYPR", "we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the KYPR iOS application and its receipt scanning features.
Questions about this policy? Contact support.kypr@gmail.com.
1. Information You Store in KYPR
KYPR allows you to save information about your purchases, including information such as:
- product names and merchant names;
- purchase dates, prices, and currencies;
- return deadlines and warranty information;
- receipt information;
- serial and model numbers; and
- documents or other purchase-related information you choose to add.
KYPR does not require you to create an account to use these features.
Purchase information maintained by the app is stored using the app's local persistence system on your device unless a feature explicitly states otherwise.
2. Receipt Scanning and AI Processing
KYPR includes an optional AI-powered receipt scanning feature.
When you choose to scan a receipt using AI, the receipt image is transmitted to KYPR's backend service so that information such as the merchant, purchase date, purchased items, prices, currency, and receipt details can be extracted.
The receipt image is processed in memory by the KYPR backend. KYPR's backend does not intentionally save receipt images to disk or a database. Receipt images and extracted receipt contents are not included in KYPR backend application logs.
3. Third-Party AI Processing
To provide AI receipt analysis, KYPR uses OpenRouter to route receipt analysis requests to an AI model provider.
The information transmitted for AI processing may include:
- the receipt image;
- instructions required to analyze the receipt; and
- the requested structured output format.
KYPR currently uses an AI model accessed through OpenRouter for receipt analysis. KYPR configures these requests to deny provider data collection and require Zero Data Retention-compatible routing.
Receipt images are transmitted to the applicable AI model provider for the purpose of performing the requested analysis. Third-party services may process limited technical metadata necessary to provide, secure, and operate their services.
KYPR does not send a KYPR account identifier or device identifier with the receipt analysis request.
4. Backend Logs
For reliability, debugging, security, and cost monitoring, the KYPR backend may record limited technical information about receipt analysis requests, including:
- a generated request identifier;
- request status and processing latency;
- AI model used;
- token usage and estimated processing cost; and
- error category or status code when a request fails.
These logs do not intentionally contain receipt images, receipt image data, or extracted receipt contents.
5. Data Retention
Receipt images are held in backend memory only for the time required to process the receipt analysis request.
KYPR's backend does not intentionally retain the uploaded receipt image or extracted receipt contents after the request has completed.
Limited technical request logs described above may be retained for service operation, debugging, security, and cost monitoring.
Third-party services involved in AI processing may process information according to their own applicable privacy and security terms. KYPR configures AI requests to require Zero Data Retention-compatible routing and to deny provider data collection.
6. How We Use Information
Information processed by KYPR is used to provide and maintain app functionality, including:
- storing and displaying your purchase information;
- analyzing receipts when you request an AI scan;
- tracking return and warranty deadlines;
- providing purchase-related reminders;
- diagnosing technical failures; and
- maintaining the reliability and security of the service.
KYPR does not use receipt contents for advertising and does not sell receipt contents or purchase information to advertisers.
7. Notifications
If you enable notifications, KYPR may send reminders related to return windows, warranty deadlines, and other purchase-related events.
Notification permissions are controlled through iOS settings. You can disable KYPR notifications at any time through your device settings.
8. Camera and Photo Library
KYPR may request access to your camera or photos when you choose to scan or select a receipt.
Camera and photo access is used only to provide functionality you explicitly request. KYPR does not require access to unrelated photos in order to analyze a receipt you choose to provide.
9. Data Sharing
KYPR does not sell your personal information.
Information is shared with third-party service providers only when necessary to provide requested functionality, such as AI-powered receipt analysis, or when required for security, legal compliance, or operation of the service.
When you request AI receipt analysis, receipt data is transmitted through OpenRouter to an applicable AI model provider for inference.
10. Your Choices and Data Deletion
AI receipt scanning is optional. You can choose to enter purchase information manually instead.
You can delete purchases and associated information using the functionality provided by KYPR. You can control camera, photo, and notification permissions through iOS Settings.
Because KYPR does not currently require a user account and the KYPR backend does not intentionally retain receipt images or extracted receipt contents after receipt analysis completes, there is generally no server-side receipt record associated with a KYPR account to delete.
For privacy questions or deletion requests concerning information that may be held by KYPR, contact support.kypr@gmail.com.
11. Children's Privacy
KYPR is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
If you believe personal information has been provided to KYPR improperly, please contact us.
12. Security
KYPR uses reasonable technical measures designed to protect information handled by the service. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
13. International Processing
Third-party service providers used to provide KYPR functionality may process information in countries other than your country of residence.
Where applicable, such processing is subject to the privacy and data protection requirements governing those service providers.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as KYPR evolves.
If the policy changes materially, the updated version and effective date will be made available through the application's Privacy Policy link.
